Liam Costello cast in Eireborne

August 5, 2021

Prolific Australian dancer Liam Costello, 18, has been cast in his first national production after reaping many international titles for Irish dancing.

Liam decided to compete internationally from a young age in Irish dancing where he has climbed his way to the top.  Some of his best accolades include 2 x World Champion Irish Dancer 2018 – 2019, 2 x All Ireland Irish Dance Champion 2016 and 2018,  2 x North American Irish Dance Champion 2017 and 2019,  All Scotland Irish Dance Champion 2018, Great Britain Irish Dance Champion 2018 and 7 x Australian National Irish Dance Champion 2012 and 2014 – 2019.

After attending Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, Liam successfully auditioned for Brent Street full time dance training. Just in his first year of tuition, he has booked a national tour of an Irish dancing production Eireborne, choreographed and co-produced by revered dancer Peta Anderson.

Eireborne is a celebration of Ireland’s contribution to the world of music and dance. It takes the audience on a journey through the history of Irish music and its development worldwide into international hits,” said Liam Costello.

Far from just other Irish dance show, this riveting rock show production is an unparalleled theatrical experience, showcasing 15 incredible Irish dancers rockin’ out to a soundtrack of the biggest hits from Irish sensations including U2, Snow Patrol, Van Morrison, Hozier, The Script, The Cranberries, and more. Performed by a live six-piece band with two lead vocalists, this frenetic and fantastic show promises to thrill audiences nation-wide.

Peta Anderson described that when she first created the concept of Eireborne, she was fuelled by a desire “to feature Irish dancers in a way we haven’t been seen before. Eireborne allowed me to push the boundaries as the choreographer and revolutionise Irish dance which shows just how versatile and mesmerising Irish dance can be.”

Following huge success in Australia and Europe, this hit Australian production has been rescheduled from earlier this year due to Covid and is ready to thrill audiences around the country from August 2021.
