Melbourne renowned full-time establishment Transit Dance has just announced European choreographer Israel Aloni as artistic director for a new pre-professional program aimed at bridging the gap between Australian and international contemporary dancers.

The nine-month intensive course commencing in 2018 is targeted at pre-professional to professional young contemporary dancers. Famous choreographers from Germany, Netherlands, Israel, Japan, and Wales will guest teach in the program and will end with a world premiere production season and tour directed by Israel Aloni.
Israel Aloni has a long-track record of choreographic credits working with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, to other independent companies around the world. He also was a guest artist with Sasha Waltz & Guests in Berlin.
“I am really excited about the context that Transit Dance will give my aspirations and visions in terms of fostering and nurturing artists in their emancipation and liberation processes,” Mr Aloni said in a press release.
